A perfect starting point for the Höhenflug is the Birkenbrauck trail parking lot. The hiking taxi (for holders of the Schmallenberger Sauerland Card) takes you exactly there for your hike to Wenholthausen or Reiste. Hike along the Sauerland-Höhenflug, accompanied by impressive impressions and magnificent nature. The taxi starts at the bus station in the center of Eslohe, where parking is available. Public buses also stop here, which you can alternatively use for the return journey to Eslohe.
- Start: Saturdays at 11:00 AM and Sundays at 10:00 AM at the Eslohe bus station
- Hiking taxi registration: By 5 PM the day before at Taxi Fabri under 02973 / 81414. Please also register dogs.
- Destination: The hiking taxi takes you to the "Birkenbrauck" trail parking lot near Niedersalwey. From there, you hike back to Reiste.
- For guests with Schmallenberger Sauerland Card: €2 for adults, €1 for children

Directions
Start your hike at the Birkenbrauck trail parking lot. Follow the trail marker of the Sauerland-Höhenflug (SHF).
After a gentle 2 km ascent, take a short detour to the Homertspitze (656m). Here you can enjoy the splendid view from a forest sofa! The path then continues gently downhill along the Sauerland-Höhenflug past a small shelter, through open terrain with good wide views or through tall spruce forest up to the Windknochen above Wenholthausen.
The SHF now leads you past the Lauschgeist down to Wenholthausen. Here, cross the country road. The path then leads gently uphill for about 6 km to the Reisterberg, from where it goes downhill, partly on the old school path, to Reiste.

This route is ideal for guests from Wenholthausen and Reiste. When using the hiking taxi for this route proposal, you don’t need a car.
Leave your car at your accommodation in Wenholthausen or Reiste and use public transport to Eslohe and the hiking taxi to the Birkenbrauck trail parking lot.
From Reiste, use bus line S70 to the Eslohe bus station.
From Eslohe, the hiking taxi (Saturday & Sunday, for holders of the Schmallenberger Sauerland Card) takes you to the starting point of the hike, the Birkenbrauck trail parking lot. From there, you can hike back over the Sauerland-Höhenflug via Wenholthausen to Reiste.
Guests with a valid Schmallenberger Sauerland Card use public transport free of charge!
