Görlitz church buildings of the Middle Ages

St. Peter's Church is one of the largest churches in Saxony and has a unique instrument, the sun organ. The Nikolaikirche, mentioned around 1100, is the oldest church in Görlitz. Today it is used as an exhibition and memorial room. The Trinity Church emerged from a former Franciscan church and houses a late Gothic carved altar with a crescent moon Madonna. The Annenkapelle was the private church of a wealthy merchant. Outside the medieval city walls is the Frauenkirche and served as a burial church. The peace prayers in Görlitz also took place in this church in 1989. Today it is used as a city church for midday prayers, concerts and exhibitions.
