On the Trail of the Reformation

The Lutherweg in Saxony is a spiritual circular hiking route. It invites you to walk in the footsteps of the Reformation and visit interesting places of activity.

Description

It connects 27 locations where Luther and his companions were active. Along the route, there are also reminders of the strong women of the Reformation – for example, at Nimbschen monastery near Grimma, where Luther's later wife Katharina von Bora lived. Or at Rochlitz Castle and Kriebstein Castle, where Duchess Elisabeth of Rochlitz introduced the Reformation despite all resistance.

Its total length is about 564 kilometers, but it can of course be hiked in sections.
