Since this is a circular tour, it is possible to start at different points. Especially recommended is the start at the parking lot at Chemnitztalradweg; alternatively, Lichtenau or Burgstädt also offer good starting points (see arrival information).
The route partly runs along the Chemnitztalradweg and leads over numerous cycle paths and streets through a lot of nature. The tour is somewhat demanding in places and offers varied sections between quiet landscapes and slightly sporty passages.
The Taurastein tower with the PURPLE PATH artwork by Via Lewandowsky "Fernsehen / Alle Wetter" can also be visited (please observe opening hours) and offers a nice opportunity for a break with a wide view over Burgstädt and the surroundings.
The PURPLE PATH project:
The PURPLE PATH is a gigantic art and sculpture trail under the open sky around Chemnitz, Central Saxony, the Erzgebirge, and up to Zwickau with more than 60 contemporary works of art.
