Shortly before Adorf, the ridge trail splits into two variants.
The official route leads along natural paths, partly with beautiful views, around Adorf. A cultural route marked as "alternative" leads directly through the town of Adorf, where a visit to the Perlmutter Experience Museum, which reopened in September 2025, or a detour to the botanical garden and the miniature exhibition “Klein Vogtland” is worthwhile.
Here is the link to the cultural variant:

Directions
The large signpost opposite the hiking and cross-country skiing house at the Vogtlandbahn, Ferienpark stop, is the starting point of your hike. The ridge trail runs on a path slightly below the Vogtlandbahn tracks. When the path meets the Schöneck – Markneukirchen local road, follow the forest path towards Wohlbach. A few meters further, you have a remarkable view of the hill landscape of the Vogtland. After two kilometers through the forest past the dyeing holes, which are described on an information board, the ridge trail leads you to a clearing. Now begins a very varied section of the path with a wonderful view of the village of Gunzen. Enjoying the view, you mostly hike slightly downhill to the Pfarrwald. A brook murmurs down to Wohlbach along the way, and you can see the first houses of the village. Feel free to take a look into the medieval church of the village before it goes uphill again towards Hermsgrün. Always walking a little above the small village, you get magnificent views of this agriculturally shaped place. Then follows a forest hike towards Adorf in Vogtland. The ridge trail leads you past the town’s train station towards the town center. You cross the federal road B92 and the White Elster. The river originates near Asch/Czech Republic and flows into the Saale in Halle. The ridge trail runs slightly uphill, parallel past the town center and market square. A visit to the Perlmutter Experience Museum, which reopened in 2025 and offers much exciting information about the freshwater pearl mussel, is worthwhile. On the Zeidelweidetal educational and hiking trail, you follow the ridge trail into the Tetterwein valley. Here, you can get an impression of the renaturation of a once extensively agriculturally used valley. Shortly after the Vogtland Panorama Trail branches off, the ridge trail follows an overgrown path to a private property and then leads you further to the customs houses in front of Gettengrün, just a "stone's throw" from Bohemia. On the way to and through Gettengrün, unique panoramic views accompany you. Gettengrün is also the birthplace of the cartoonist Erich Ohser, known under the pseudonym “e.o.plauen.” Before reaching his birth house with a memorial plaque, you pass through the varied village of Gettengrün. Afterwards, a forest path leads uphill to Eichigt, which welcomes you with a natural swimming pool. The Obereichigt bus stop on the main street is your stage destination.
