On the way to Bergheim, the Sieg meets the Agger. At junction 29, follow the signs "Sieg mouth" and then continue to Meindorf. Please note that you must ride to Meindorf on the Sankt Augustiner side. You will reach the small town after about 5 kilometers. Right at the water, there is a nice playground and for a little refreshment you can even jump into the Sieg here. Freshly bathed, you continue on the saddle and after about 2 kilometers you reach the restaurant at the Sieg ferry. Here you can refresh yourself for the next stage. The idyllic beer garden is located right next to the oldest and only one-man ferry in Germany. This so-called reaction ferry is held by a cable and driven by the current to the opposite side.
By bike, continue towards Bergheim and after only one kilometer, you come to the fishing museum. Children can participate in a museum rally here. After the visit, if you are back at the Sieg ferry, you can decide whether to ride the same way back to Troisdorf or cycle through the floodplain landscape on the other side of the Sieg. Back in Siegburg, a visit to anno17 is worthwhile. Named after Archbishop Anno, the first public gastronomy of the Archdiocese of Cologne offers small dishes and snacks for hungry cyclists. Well strengthened, small and big fish fans can visit the knowledge house Wanderfische. It is located directly on the Sieg and houses an impressive wall installation about the journey of salmon, exhibits of native migratory fish, and a water workshop. So there's plenty of variety on the green route.

Directions
The Sieg bike path is consistently marked with the yellow logo and mostly runs on paved paths without major inclines.
You can reach the circular route from Siegburg station. There is signage for the Sieg bike path to junction 2. At junction 2, you cycle towards Troisdorf/Bergheim. At junction 29, follow the signs to Sieg mouth and then on to Meindorf. Please note that you must ride to Meindorf on the Sankt Augustiner side. On the way to Bergheim, you will pass the Sieg ferry, the only one-man ferry in Germany.
From Bergheim, you can take a detour to Mondorf, where the Sieg flows into the Rhine. The Sieg bike path passes two side arms of the Sieg, between the harbor basin and the Rhine shore shortly before the ferry landing stage.
On the return from Mondorf to Bergheim, just before the Sieg ferry, the path splits again towards Siegburg. Through the floodplain landscape, you then cycle back on the other side of the Sieg to Siegburg. Along lush meadows, you pass Sieglarer Lake, which is a popular breeding area for waterfowl. On the outskirts of Troisdorf, both paths meet at the Sieg bridge, and soon the view falls on Michaelsberg Abbey towering over the town of Siegburg.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
At junction 29, you can take a detour to the AGGUA swimming pool and Wissem Castle. It houses Europe's unique picture book museum, the MUSIT - Museum for Urban and Industrial History of Troisdorf - and the Wahner Heide Portal. Those who have seen and read everything here will find an animal deer enclosure and a great adventure playground waiting for them in the castle park.
From junction 29, you cycle parallel to the Agger to the AGGUA swimming pool in Troisdorf. It is also worthwhile here to leave the Agger-Sülz bike path and follow the signposted route to junction 24, which leads directly to Wissem Castle via Siebengebirgsallee and Römerstraße. The same way takes you back to the Sieg.
Safety guidelines
At a water level of 2.30 m at Pegel Menden, parts of the bike path may be flooded.
