- Destination: Eitorf station (Sieg), Bahnhofstraße 32, 53783 Eitorf
On the cycle path heading to Eitorf, after a short ride along the Sieg you reach the town of Merten. It is worth making a detour to the park area of Merten Castle. Not far from the castle and right on the Sieg is the family-friendly campsite Happach. To get to the campsite, leave the Sieg cycle path in Merten and continue cycling along the L333 towards Eitorf. There is a continuous cycle path along the road. Canoeists can also put their boats in the water at an officially designated spot here and after a short paddling tour can even spend the night in a camping barrel.
You need to pedal hard between Merten and Lützgenauel to reach the small town, as there is a small climb on the route. Once in Eitorf, opposite the Kelters district at junction 15 around Brückenstraße, there are several places that invite you to swim. In the middle of the town center and just a few meters from the Sieg cycle path lies a pretty playground in Siegpark. For very sporty kids, there is a great new skatebowl and a basketball facility at Siegauenplatz.
The 2-kilometer-long adventure trail with "Kiki Eichhorn" for children of kindergarten and primary school age is located on Keltersberg, just a few meters from the Eitorf town center. Numerous stations like animal long jump and barefoot path invite participation. A bee trail and a forest trail with many information stations round off the very varied offer in Eitorf.

Directions
The Sieg cycle path is continuously marked with the yellow logo and mostly runs on paved paths with a steep climb behind the town of Merten.
The Sieg cycle path is signposted from the S-Bahn stop Blankenberg (Sieg). Simply follow the Sieg cycle path sign towards Eitorf. On the way from the town of Blankenberg to Eitorf, you pass through the villages of Oberauel, Auel, Merten, Lützgenauel, and Bourauel. At junction 15, follow the signs towards Eitorf.
The cycle path winds along the Sieg loops and is bordered immediately after the small village of Auel by beautiful deciduous forest and the river. Behind Auel, a railway crossing has a special feature. To open the closed barrier, you press a request button and speak briefly with an employee in the signal box. In the same way, you notify when you have passed the crossing. The cycle path continues over two new bicycle bridges directly to the station and then to the scenic Merten Castle. Behind the town exit, you must first overcome a steep climb into the forest before it goes down again through the settlement of Lützgenauel directly to the Sieg riverbank. On the opposite side of the river lies Eitorf, whose station can be quickly reached via a bridge to Siegpark.
