A prominent feature of the route is the many wide views into the Sauerland and Wittgenstein mountain ranges and beyond. The observation tower on the Ziegenhelle at 816 m above sea level offers a 360° panoramic view. The unobstructed views are the result of bark beetle infestation and storms, which many spruces could not withstand. In addition to the impressive views, the route also passes several historical sites (Gaulskopf, Hubertus Chapel, forester's houses, legendary monastery) and several particularly protected landscape components such as moors, gorges, and old beech forests. The Wallershöhe, located at 812 m high, is another “800-meter” part of the route. There is a signposted junction there to the highest point of the Siegen-Wittgenstein district.
