Rigi Burggeist - Obermatt - Breitebnet - Obergschwend

Embark on a magical journey with your children through the mysterious Zwärgli forest on the Rigi! The newly designed Zwärgli trail from Rigi Burggeist to Obergschwend is a lovingly staged themed route for families with children in primary school (grades 1–3), combining play, puzzles, and nature experiences.

The story

The Zwärgli king Grigi drank too much of the legendary magic potion at the last Zwärgli festival and forgot the birthdate of his beloved Zwärgli queen Gerda! Help him, with the support of his dwarf friends, to find out the forgotten date again. At eight lovingly designed stations, small puzzles and clues await you. Whoever finds all the numbers solves the mystery of the secret birthdate and gains access to the reward.

Procedure

At the start at the mountain station Rigi Burggeist, the children receive, for CHF 3.–, a Zwärgli booklet with the exciting story, puzzles, and space to enter the solutions. The path leads about 540 meters downhill through forests, meadows, and past beautiful viewpoints.

Reward
Arrived at the bottom and with the correct date in hand, a small surprise awaits at the valley station. Those who do not want to hike back up with the cable car can also make the magic potion at home using the enclosed recipe.

Highlight for children

  • Exciting dwarf stories
  • Creative puzzles with a learning effect
  • Nature experience with playgrounds at Rigi Burggeist and Rigi Scheidegg
  • Reward

Tip for the start

The cable car Obergschwend – Rigi Burggeist conveniently takes you to the starting point of the hike. A stop at the two playgrounds by the inns Rigi Scheidegg and Rigi Burggeist is definitely worth it.

Notes

Please note that a ladder must be overcome on the path – therefore, the route is not suitable for dogs.

To ensure future generations can also enjoy the Queen of the Mountains, please dispose of your waste at the stations of the Rigi Railways. Thank you.
