Lecture by Claudia Rasztar, art historian
In the early modern period, an aristocratic man was always traveling. Changing locations was part of his noble lifestyle. Even the young nobleman was expected and required to venture out into the world to see as much of it as possible. It began with the "Grand Tour" and continued throughout his life.
Using numerous examples from art history, art historian Claudia Rastzar takes the audience on a journey. In doing so, the participants follow in the footsteps of Otto Wilhelm von Königsmarck, whose "Grand Tour" took him through nearly all countries in Central, Western, and Southern Europe.
