History
Osterwieck looks back on over 1000 years of history and boasts the largest collection of half-timbered houses in the whole of Germany.

1728 - The building was constructed in the 18th century as a three-storey half-timbered house. It is designed in the Baroque style and bears witness to the high level of craftsmanship of the tradesmen's guild of the time.
From 1920 - The house was used as a residence and also offered accommodation to travelers. A trick postcard and an advertising campaign are known from this period. From 1925, the building also served as a trade union building.
1996 - A lot of imagination was required to imagine the ageing building as a hotel. The redevelopment of the old town was just beginning, so there were few references for the half-timbered renovation. After intensive renovation work, the hotel was finally opened on June 20, 1997.
From 1997 onwards, countless events were held in the hotel. Election forums, city council meetings and, of course, numerous dance evenings. Guests from near and far stopped here and enjoyed the ambience.
Today - After the hotel business came to a standstill and the community looked at the establishment with concern, courageous people came together and developed a vision. The new operators did not think twice and wanted to restore the hotel to its former glory. After the acquisition, the extensive renovation work began. With great attention to detail and enormous dedication, the hotel was extensively renovated and now shines in all its glory once again. It was officially opened on August 31, 2022.
