Lake

the bathing lake of wolffsburg in a central location and with a wide range of leisure activities

The 29-hectare Allersee lake lies at the heart of the Allerpark. It is a popular destination for recreation seekers, sun worshippers and water lovers, especially in summer.

The Allersee was created artificially in 1969 and is 1,230 metres long and 270 metres wide. Its deepest point is 11 m.

With its good water quality, the lake is particularly popular with swimmers in summer.

Along the north-west side of the lake is a sandy beach that stretches for almost a kilometre, creating the perfect holiday feeling. The beach promenade, which is up to six metres wide, runs along the sandy beach and the Allersee, inviting you to take a stroll. Whether on foot, with inline skates or by bike - no problem on the paved promenade. Elevations on the sides provide additional seating for resting and relaxing.

The Allersee is guarded by the DLRG at weekends from May to October and therefore offers a safe bathing experience.

Due to its particularly high safety standards for bathers, the DLRG awarded the Allersee the "Guarded Beach" certificate in 2009.The award is the result of an assessment and risk analysis of the Allersee by the DLRG and the International Saving Federation of Europe and makes it clear to guests that they can swim safely here. This made Wolfsburg's Allersee the first certified inland bathing lake in Germany.

In addition to bathers, the Allersee is also popular with water sports enthusiasts. The clubs based on the southern shore of the lake regularly train on the lake and also organise various regattas and water sports events. At the regattas, spectators can watch and cheer on the canoeists, sailors and rowers as they compete in exciting races. If you prefer to get active yourself, you can take part in one of the taster courses offered by the clubs or hire a board for stand-up paddling from the monkeyman high ropes course and go for a spin on the Allersee.

The Allerpark can also be used as a starting point for longer hiking and cycling tours in the green city. From here, for example, Wolfsburg's Drömling Nature Park is the next stage. The Aller cycle path also runs along the Allerpark;
