Confectionery & Bakery Seidel
At Konditorei & Bäckerei Seidel in Gelenau, genuine bakery craftsmanship has been alive and well since 1903. Run by the fourth generation of Doreen Seidel, fresh bread made from natural sourdough, cakes based on family recipes and Baumkuchen, which is still baked in the traditional way on a roller, are created here every day with masterful skill and a great deal of passion. The in-house ice cream factory uses the latest methods to produce fine ice cream creations, from which artistic ice cream cakes and ice bombs are made. Wedding cakes and cakes for special occasions are made with great craftsmanship and masterful precision.
At Christmas time, it smells of genuine Erzgebirge stollen and handmade gingerbread - made according to Grandpa Jürgen's old recipes. Customers are not only local connoisseurs, but also numerous hotels and restaurants in the Ore Mountains and beyond.
A total of six master craftsman titles in the company speak for themselves - a sign of the high level of craftsmanship. Owner Doreen Seidel is supported not only by her dedicated team, but also by her father - a passionate baker who continues to keep a watchful eye on quality. The Seidel family lives their craft - with heart, dedication and "sugar in their blood".
If you can't shop on site, you can also find many of the handmade specialties in the well-stocked online store.
