Donoper Teich

  • Lake
The Donoper pond, created in 1641 by damming the Hasselbach stream in the Hiddeser forest, is an integral part of the nature reserve of the same name. It includes valuable biotopes and the last living raised bog in East Westphalia.
The Donop pond, named after the long-established noble von Donop family, whose roots go back to the 14th century, is an important natural monument in Lippe. Originally used for fish farming, the pond still offers the opportunity to observe various species of fish from the shore. The surrounding nature reserve is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts. The nature discovery trail invites you to explore the diverse flora and fauna of the region and offers a valuable opportunity to relax in nature.
