Starting at the Neustadt end of Augustusbrücke, the statue of the famous Saxon elector Augustus the Strong, the "Golden Horseman", points the way to the main street. Hauptstraße can be easily reached by streetcar lines 3, 6, 7, 8 and 11 via the Albertplatz stop or by lines 4 and 9 via Neustädter Markt/Goldener Reiter. If you are environmentally friendly, you can also reach the promenade on foot or by bike - for example via the Elbe cycle path. For drivers, public parking spaces are available in the Metzer Straße parking garage and around Albertplatz and Palaisplatz. However, there may be increased traffic and limited parking spaces, especially at peak times. It is therefore advisable to travel by public transport - fast, sustainable and stress-free.
