The church is located on a high terp in Pakens. It was built in the late 13th century from granite ashlars. The apse was later raised with bricks and given a conical roof. There has been a crucifixion relief on the front since the 15th century. The original belfry was built in 1505, but had to be removed in 1960/61 due to dilapidation. The basement has been rebuilt to provide space for a mortuary.
The three-bay domical vault and the sandstone altar reredos from 1691 are worth mentioning. The baptismal font is decorated with garlands and angel heads and is supported by three well-fed cherubs. The church can be reached via the ring road or on foot/by bike via Pakenser Straße or Burgweg.
Worship service: 14-days, Sundays, 10.00 am (see notice board)
