Natural environment NatureExperienceSpace Dohrenberg close to one of Einbeck's villages, Salzderhelden, impresses with its unique natural countryside and view on the Leinepolder, the huge federal road B3 bridge and Salzderhelden castle. The area of Dohrenberg was opened up to the public through an initiative of volunteering and nature-loving citizens, Salzderhelden village council as well as representatives of the Einbeck city.
All year long there are new things to discover for nature-interested and environmentally friendly walkers. People interested in nature will find in the old cultivated landscape on the Dohrenberg further to rare types of orchids and gentian also protected butterflies, moths and rich bird life.
Important advice for visitors: Visitors and hikers of the Dohrenberg are asked to stay on the trails to protect the nature and numerous animal species, and to take the environment into consideration. Garbage and food leftovers of a picnic should not be thrown into the nature, but disposed of at home.
At the Dohrenberg, there is a vineyard. Grape harvesting is a very special day for hobby winemakers. The red from the grapes of the variety "Müller Thurgau" and "Red Regent" is taken from the location "Käsebusch" to the river Mosel by a befriended winemaker who takes care of the development and aging of the wine. Afterwards, it is returned to Salzderhelden.
Here you may plunge virtually in the beautiful nature (360°):

- In spring the Dohrenberg blossoms in a white sea of flowers of wild garlic.
- In summer bees and bumblebees are looking for nectar in the warm air, and there is an abundance of insects on trees and along the trail.
- In autumn the leaves of the forest trees and orchards shine with vivid colours and loads of mushrooms sprout up on the floor.
- In winter you may enjoy the view on the Leine valley and walk through the snow.
