On April 15, 2015, Odin’s Filmtheater Bad Lippspringe e.V. made the transition to the digital age and has been offering a state-of-the-art movie-going experience ever since. Equipped with an NC 900C digital projector and a 2K chipset, the theater offers film technology on par with major multiplexes. The eight-channel Dolby Digital Cinema projector delivers impressive theater-quality sound. The theater screens current films that are often not yet available on DVD or pay TV. The Filmtheater is supported by over 50 dedicated members. The most recent modernization was made possible by the support of the residents of Bad Lippspringe, the city, generous business leaders, and other institutions. Donations totaling 28,174 euros, along with 25,770 euros in tax funds administered by the Federal Film Fund and the Detmold District Government, contributed to the renovation. Odin’s Film Theater is a place created by the community for the community and is an indispensable part of the local cultural scene.
