The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Stephen in Kalme is a small church that has had an eventful history over the centuries. It has been repeatedly altered, rebuilt, repaired and even demolished and rebuilt due to dilapidation. With its octagonal shape, the building style is rather unusual and has existed in this form since 1840. The church stands on a small site where there is still an active cemetery with a few graves. The church is located in the middle of the village on the thoroughfare.
