The Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers in Gera-Langenberg

The church attracts attention from far away because of its tower that rises 60 metres into the air. The church’s exterior offers viewers interesting insights into art history – for example: the striking Gothic chancel with buttresses and tracery windows, the Romanesque tower stump with its Late Gothic octagonal pinnacle and the Baroque nave. The combination of art styles continues inside the building. It has an expansive hall-type structure, buttresses next to the chancel and a bricked-up pointed arch portal and a rough relief (1467) with the Man of Sorrows and two angels on the southern side of the chancel.
