Trocheler Forst mit Silbersee

The diverse tree population and the ponds, small lakes, and crystal-clear streams found in the forest area make the Trocheler Forest one of the most beautiful forests in the county. An educational trail, created as part of the “Samtgemeinde Bothel – Naturally Natural” project, connects the three villages of Bothel, Brockel, and Hemslingen via informative hiking trails. During a walk, you’ll discover fascinating and helpful information about nesting boxes, fruit varieties, tree species, and much more.

You can also explore the Silbersee in the Trocheler Forest. This lake was formed by soil extraction and covers an area of approximately 2,000 square meters. The many animal and plant species make the Silbersee an extremely interesting ecosystem. In the past, the lake was used as a training ground for hunting dogs. Today, it is home to many dragonflies, and in the summer, grass frogs put on an atmospheric concert.
