Ziegenrück Church

Church
The Renaissance and middle-class Protestant culture have been revived around the town hall, the church and the rectory in Ziegenrück with a great deal of love for detail.
The St Bartholomew’s and St Nicholas’s Church with its three aisles had already been built in about 1214 and was elevated to a parish church in 1360. It was renewed in the 15th century, but completely burnt down in 1656. All the medieval traces inside the building have now been destroyed. The remains of the Late Gothic tracery can still be seen on the old tower, which nestles into the hillside. The inflexed arch window overlooking the street is unusual for a sacred building.
