  • Start: Various starting points possible. Starting point No. 1 in Gandersheim city center, parking lot Stiftsfreiheit
  • Destination: Circular route with the possibility to use other entry and exit points as well.
The route offers many beautiful viewpoints over the Heberbörde and the Harz foothills. The path runs almost exclusively on cycle paths, paved field and forest roads, and on side roads.

Right from the starting point of the route, you have the opportunity to experience Gandersheim’s history, for example on a walk through the old town, as a guest in the municipal museum or when visiting the Romanesque collegiate church with the exhibition “Rediscovering Treasures”. You should also plan to visit the former Brunshausen monastery. It is worth taking a look at the founding place of the Gandersheim foundation and the exhibitions of the portal to history there, as well as visiting the local gastronomy. In the district of Clus, you should see the Romanesque monastery church with the Gothic carved altar from 1487 and possibly make a detour to the forest educational trail.
