Bicycle tour to the Schachten

From Frauenau, the cycle tour leads past the Trinkwassertalsperre Frauenau, the repository of drinking water in the national park area, up to the "pastures of the Bavarian Forest", as the Schachten are called. Big old trees and rare flowering plants make the cultural-historical and ecologically significant islands of the forest of the national park so unique. The Schachten themselves can only be explored by foot, so there is a bicycle parking at Hochschachten.
