Experience the beauty of northern Vogtland on a “country excursion.” The region is predominantly shaped by agriculture. In some parts, it was also affected by mining, and recultivation efforts can be observed in some places. The symbolic village character has largely been preserved in the localities. Lovingly restored farm complexes illustrate this vividly and unfold their charm. Club buildings, farm shops, and farmer’s gardens bear witness to this, as well as the existing agricultural businesses. Worth visiting are the museum “Schusterhaus” and the Galerie Vierseithof in Großenstein, the farm complex 14 in Baldenhain, the playground and church in Pölzig, as well as the church in Groitschen where you may be lucky to observe kestrels.

- Schusterhaus Großenstein. The museum is located in a half-timbered house (cultural monument). In addition to the shoemaker's workshop, the furnishings of the house are almost completely preserved (visits possible by appointment at 0175-6788536).
- Galerie Vierseithof (gallery with approximately 150 large-format oil paintings, drawings, and watercolors permanently on display. Gallery visits are possible by prior arrangement at 036602-22810.)
- Vierseithof Baldenhain. A lovingly restored four-sided farm with an extraordinary atmosphere, also used as an event venue.
- Farm complexes Frankenau. The lovingly renovated farm complexes partly resemble small manor houses.
- Church Pölzig. The Förderverein Kirche Pölzig e.V. works intensively on the preservation of the historical buildings and offers guided tours by arrangement through the parish (036695-21019).
- Church Groitschen. With the campaign “Living Space Church Tower,” NABU is committed to securing nesting sites for endangered species. Church towers are optimal places to establish breeding sites for kestrels, bats, barn owls, jackdaws, and other species.
