Due to extensive work on Montanusstraße in Burscheid, the Balkantrasse panoramic cycle route will be closed until around mid-2026. A corresponding detour is signposted. See map for download. The detour is expected to remain in place until mid-2026 (as of 02.05.2023)

The Dhünn-Runde (Dhünn Loop) runs upriver from Leverkusen along the lovely little Dhünn river to the Großen Dhünn valley reservoir. Experience the beautiful natural surroundings both on the green Bergisch hills and in the river meadows of the Dhünn, while at the same time walking in the footsteps of the impressive industrial history along the Dhünn to the Rhine. The loop trail passes some attractive sights like Altenberg Cathedral, the historical centre of the municipality of Odenthal and Industriemuseum Freudenthaler Sensenhammer.
