On the path over narrow trails through the Black Forest highlands, you will find interesting rock formations such as the "Hohe Fels", the "Iltisfels", the "Teufelsfels", and the "Eulenfels." Along the way, you also pass a Marian grotto and a red deer enclosure.

At the Wild- and Hiking Park parking lot outside of Weiskirchen stands the entrance portal of the path made of thick tree trunks. Behind the Petri hut with barbecue area and fishing pond in Rappweiler-Zwalbach, the trail runs along the "barefoot path".

Behind the "Old Bakershop" of Waldhölzbach, the path climbs steeply through the forest to the Teufelsfels, a bizarre rock formation that offers unexpected panoramic views.

From the Teufelsfels, it goes down into the valley of the Hölzbach. You cross the stream using stepping stones that lie as if casually placed in the Hölzbach.

The Hölzbachtal is left via a longer uphill section. It ends at the Wild- and Hiking Park, which is circled around. In the spacious terrain on the ridge between the Hölzbachtal and Holzbachtal, powerful wisents are well camouflaged in the undergrowth.

Along the Saarland-Rhineland-Palatinate border, the trail goes downhill to the next stream valley.

Several hundred meters of altitude still need to be overcome until the tour’s starting point.

The path has been rated with 72 experience points by the German Hiking Institute.
