From the former Wendhusen Monastery, a canonesses' convent dating back to 825, this hike leads from Thale via Timmenrode along the Devil's Wall to Blankenburg, whose castle once served as a secondary residence of the Dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg. After passing through Blankenburg, you will reach Michaelstein Monastery on the northwest outskirts of town.
