On this cycle tour, you will get to know the Weser villages of Höxter and pass numerous rest stops along the way.
After starting in Höxter, you will first pass the village of Lüchtringen. Incidentally, Lüchtringen is the only NRW town east of the Weser. You continue along the Weser, through fields and meadows, to the Lower Saxony town of Holzminden, where you cross the Weser and arrive in the village of Stahle. Here you can take a longer half-time break.
You then cycle away from the Weser in a wide arc and cycle along an apple orchard to Albaxen. At the Tonenburg castle, you rejoin the Weser cycle path and cycle back to Höxter. Shortly before your destination, the World Heritage Site of Corvey awaits your visit.
For navigation, you can also find the route on outdooractive and komoot.

Directions
You start your tour at the historic town hall. At the beginning, cross the Weser and turn diagonally left towards the village of Lüchtringen approx. 500 metres after the bridge. Incidentally, Lüchtringen is the only NRW village on the eastern side of the Weser. Simply follow the cycle path to Lüchtringen. In the village, the route makes a short detour to the left. Here you will find a nice rest area with a view of the Weser and, if you wish, you can also follow the short path directly along the Weser. Otherwise, simply cycle straight on through the village, continuing in the direction of Holzminden.
About one kilometre after crossing under the bridge, leave the Weser to the right. Shortly after kilometre eight, please take care and turn sharp left to rejoin the Weser and head towards Holzminden. From here you can already see the silhouette of the town. Once you arrive in Holzminden, you can take a short break in the harbour bar or on the terrace of the Weserhotel.
The tour continues over the Weser bridge to the village of Stahle in Höxter. Immediately after the Weser bridge, follow the cycle path to the right along the Weser. After a further 1.5 km, leave the Weser to the left to cross the village of Stahle. Before crossing the main road, however, it is advisable to make a short detour to the right to Hotel Kiekenstein. Simply follow the short dirt track, lock your bikes to the railings below the hotel and walk up the steps to the terrace. From the terrace, you have a wonderful view over the Weser.
After crossing the main road, cycle slightly uphill through an idyllic settlement and turn left just before the end of the settlement and then immediately right again onto Köterbergstraße. Continuing uphill, follow the road to the left and soon afterwards to the right to continue in a large curve along an apple orchard to Albaxen. In Albaxen, follow the specified route with a few turns through the settlement to the main road and then on to Tonenburg. Tonenburg Castle, built in 1315, is an old Corvey defence castle and is now a well-known biker hotel. Take the opportunity to rest before setting off on the last few metres towards Höxter.
From the Tonenburg, cycle down to the Weser and follow the cycle path to the right towards Höxter. After a few large bends along the river, you cross under the Weser bridge at Lüchtringen again, but this time on the other side and have a beautiful view of the aforementioned village. Continue along the cycle path and shortly afterwards cycle past the World Heritage Site of Corvey. If you would like to see the façade of the 1200-year-old westwork from the front, you must now turn right. Otherwise, cycle under the iron bridge and follow the cycle path through a marvellous oak avenue in the Weser arch. Incidentally, the town of Corvey used to be located here on the right under the field. However, the history of this settlement came to an end after a raid by the Bishop of Paderborn and the citizens of Höxter in 1265. Continue past the Corvey harbour to the town of Höxter and when you see the towers of the Kilianikirche, the landmark of the town of Höxter, which vary in height, it is only a few metres to your destination at the historic town hall.
