Holzkirchen farm shop tour

The bike tour to Holzkirchen farm shops and vending machines starts in the heart of the market town at the Green Market. This has been held for over 50 years on Wednesdays and Saturdays directly in front of the town hall on the marketplace. 

Heading north, we cross the railway tracks via the foot and cycle bridge and follow Austraße until we pass under Industriestraße through an underpass. Via a cycle path, we reach the railway overpass on Buchenstraße and keep right after it, always along the railway tracks. Through a gravel service road, we reach Eschenstraße, which we immediately leave to the right via Heidenweg towards Föching.

In Föching, the first shopping opportunity is offered at the Killer farm shop. We follow the road towards Erlkam and Neu-Erlkam. Along the Holzkirchen northern bypass, we use the cycle path and then follow the Otterfinger Weg on the left until it branches off into Reitschulweg. After Reitschulweg, we cross Münchner Straße and follow Wilhelm-Liebhaber-Straße through a quiet residential area to the next shopping opportunity, Eichnerhof. In the "Schmankerlhütte" we get milk, sausage and cheese, eggs as well as homemade, spicy and sweet delicacies for every taste.

We follow Roggersdorfer Straße eastwards and continue our tour via Spitzweg- and Baumgartenstraße.  At the edge of town, we leave Baumgartenstraße to the right onto a service road that leads us westwards into the forest. Riding on forest paths, we briefly cross State Road 2073 and pass through the village of Buch. Right after Buch, at the edge of Kleinhartpenning, the next stop awaits: At Hühnerhof Bacher, we receive eggs as well as numerous pasta variations made from wheat and spelt. 

Further on it goes through Kleinhartpenning and up to Asberg, a glacial terminal moraine. Here we pass Stroblhof, certified as an adventure farm. Children can experience the farm here with all their senses. The farm offers an ideal learning place to combine experienced knowledge from agriculture and nature with practical experience. 

A beautifully located field and service road leads us through fields towards the village of Sufferloh, the spectacularly located white chapel of Our Lady on Sufferloher Frauenberg already points us the way. 

From Sufferloh, we follow a small municipal connecting road to the village of Thann, which is strongly characterized by horse breeding and riding operations. Here, a nationally known riding tournament takes place annually. 

From Thann, there is still a short stretch of travel on the state road from Lochham to Marschall ahead of us, but we do not reach Holzkirchen without a short stop at the Betzinger farm shop. The farm shop offers a wide range of locally produced foods, as well as a lovely farm café.

Strengthened and fully loaded with impressions and delicacies, we cover the last meters of our tour back to the Holzkirchen marketplace.
