L3 - Local hiking trail Bad Laasphe - "Wittgenstein Castle and old castle"

Following in the footsteps of the old landgraves, this historically inspired circular route takes you to the former residence castle, which is situated 470m above the town.

Although the building is unfortunately not open to the public inside, it is worth staying here for a while. Old stables, riding arenas, former cemeteries in the outer area, and the well-maintained old building are wonderful photo motifs.

From here, the circular route runs past remnants of a prehistoric fortification on the old castle. The return route leads from the school along a beautiful path to the Friedwald back towards the town.
