L4 meets Myths and Legends path

The start promises half-timbered idyll and historically vivid stories. A successful contrast before being captivated by the clarity of nature. Gnarled old deciduous forests creating natural shade with their leafy canopy, a lively babbling brook, scenic forested sections reclaimed by nature presenting rich greenery and colorful blooms, and sunny wide views of the Wittgenstein mountain region.

Still rather flat at first, the path later winds idyllically through the Neesbach valley ascending to the Butzeberg. Some altitude is gained here, every meter worth it!

Here the L4 meets the Myths and Legends path. It gets a bit mystical along the way, especially when passing the rock formation Teufelskanzel. Today a natural monument, once feared... the tales attached to it are told on display boards along the trail.

The trail is also a top tip for dog owners: perfect for hikes with dogs, as at the start of the route there are extensive bathing opportunities for four-legged friends (also enjoyed by their two-legged companions) in the Laasphe!

On the way back, a stop at the Berghütte Teufelskanzel is recommended - here energy reserves can be replenished in a great atmosphere from Thursday/Friday from 4 pm and on the weekend from 11 am!

If you need cooling off at the end of the hike, you can take a round through our Kneipp facility in the adjacent city park. Kneipp therapy in the foot and arm basins offers wonderfully healing stimuli and refreshment at the same time (unfortunately only allowed for humans here!)
