The route through the north of Leipzig leads through several parks and is therefore very scenic. The Luther Trail and the Ecumenical Pilgrimage Trail run together for part of the route. You can therefore follow both trail markings. After Leipzig, the route leads across river meadows and through small villages to the town of Eilenburg. Luther stayed in Eilenburg several times between 1518 and 1545. He also passed through Eilenburg on his way to the disputation in Leipzig in 1519 and the introduction of the Reformation in 1539.

Directions
Once across the center of Leipzig, the route leads from Augustusplatz via Georgiring to Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße. At List-Platz, turn left into Brandenburger-Straße. A bridge crosses the railroad tracks here. In Adenauer-Allee, the path turns left through Mariannenpark. Cross the park in a northerly direction and then continue along the River Parthe to Abtnaundorfer Park. Leave the park via Heiterblickstraße and turn into Wognaundorfer Gasse. The route continues along Reiterallee, past Naturbad Nordost, along Tauchaer Straße and Am Keulenberg to Plaussig-Portitz. Here you cross under the A14. The route continues across the Parthewiesen meadows on the Seegeritzer Weg and Plaußiger Weg through the villages of Seegeritz, Gordemitz and Jesewitz. Before Wölpern, you cross the B87, pass through the village of Wölpern and then continue along Eilenburger Straße. In Eilenburg, this becomes Bergstraße, which crosses the Mühlgraben in the town. The route leads along Wallstraße and Anger to the market square and ends at Försterweg.
