Species richness and diversity are the hallmarks of the Parthenaue. At every bend in the path, hikers can enjoy exciting views of a varied landscape of forest, meadow, and fields with valley floodplains and moraine hills. Two natural monuments as well as nearly 60 protected biotopes reflect the diverse habitats with a rich inventory of endangered plants and animals. The Parthe hiking trail passes through hospitable villages and towns with their cultural offerings and is a true natural refuge.

Directions
From Mariannen Park with its large park meadow, the castle, and the Schönefeld Memorial Church, the path leads out of the city of Leipzig always along the Parthe through Abtnaundorf Park with its castle, old trees, and the idyllic pond, continuing toward Taucha. The small town surprises with medieval remains of the city wall, the manor castle, and a former brewery from the Renaissance era, which today houses the municipal museum, the city library, and a restaurant. From the observation tower at the city park, the town and the Parthenaue can be seen again from afar. From here, the path continues southeast toward Borsdorf or on to Beucha.

Safety guidelines

Between Panitzsch and Taucha, the path currently unfortunately goes over the road to Sehlis; please watch for traffic here.
