The tour starts at the cycle route signpost in the castle parking lot opposite Moritzburg Tourist Information. Cross Schlossallee and ride past the stables of the Saxon State Stud into the one-way street. Follow the signs through a small residential area. At the end, drive through a historic gate, turn immediately left and then right to Kleine Fasanenstraße. You will cross the canal , a former navigable connection for courtly festivities. At the end of Kleine Fasanenstraße you turn right to the Großteich. At the height of the dam, you will pass through a historic gap in the wild wall into the Pheasant Garden with the Pheasant Castle. On the left side is the well-known Moritzburg game reserve.Follow the path along the nature reserve Frauenteich for about 2 km and turn right into Kalkreuther Straße. Pass the Bauernteich and turn left into Naunhofer Straße , from where you can see the foothills of the Lusatian Mountains. After about 2.5 km on a forest road you reach the district Steinbach. At the end of the village turn right into Mistschänkenweg , cross the state road S 81 and arrive at the traditional inn Mistschänke.After about 700 m turn left into the signposted forest path. Following the signs, cross the S 81 and reach the district of Auer. Cross the two state roads in Auer. On the right side of the tour is the idyllic Ilschenteich . After 2 km you leave the forest and drive into the small hilltop landscape with the district Friedewald. Cross under the S 81 in the St. Ulrich road tunnel. In the village of Dippelsdorf, it is worth making a detour to the Red House, the domicile of the Brücke artists, who accentuated expressionist painting here. Follow the signs over the S81 road bridge and you will reach the district of Friedewald-Buchholz. Follow the signs to the romantic Lößnitzgrund . After about 0.5 km on the Lößnitzgrundstraße turn left into the steeply uphill street Am Brand.You will reach the highlands of the district Reichenberg and turn right there. Once you reach the district of Boxdorf, cross the S 179 and ride uphill along Windmühlenweg to the highest point of the bike tour. Now push your bike a short distance downhill and turn left into Waldteichstraße. After 1 km you cross the S 81 again and after another 700 m turn left into the Alte Dresdner Straße to Moritzburg. At the entrance to Moritzburg you will find the Rad'l-Eck, an iconic cycling pub. From there, you can take the direct route to Schlossallee and the Moritzburg castle parking lot.
Note: In wet weather, the forest and field path tour sections may have poor path quality.

The tour starts at the cycle route signpost in the castle parking lot, opposite Moritzburg Tourist Information. Follow the signs along Schlossallee, turn right into August-Bebel-Straße into the small residential area, then straight ahead along Emil-Höhne-Straße, cross the historic canal on the left and cycle to Kleine Fasanenstraße, from where you reach the large pond. Before the Churfürstliche Waldschänke, turn right and continue along the large pond towards the Fasanenschlösschen. Cycle around it on the right and continue straight on along the edge of the forest to the next fork (Blue Gate). Keep left here and cycle to the junction with Radeburger Straße (state road S 81), follow it briefly to the left and then turn right again onto Neubauernweg. Continue along the Frauenteich nature reserve and then turn right onto Kalkreuther Straße. Cycle along Kalkreuther Straße past the farm pond to the next fork. Keep left onto Naunhofer Straße and after approx. 400 m turn left again onto the F-Weg.
Follow the F-Weg for approx. 1.5 km through the forest, then turn right onto the X-Weg and cycle towards Steinbach. Cycle through the village on Schlossweg and then left on Dorfstraße until you reach the junction with Mistschänkenweg. Turn right there and continue straight ahead until the next crossroads. Turn left here into O-Weg and ride through the district of Neuer Anbau to the junction with the S 81 state road. Cross the S 81 and follow the road "Zum Heidehof"/F-Weg through the forest for approx. 800 m. At the next fork, turn right onto LW-Weg/Sternweg and continue to the Altenteichen ponds. Take the path between the two ponds and then immediately keep left to reach Auer via the W-Weg.
In Auer, take the Siedlerweg, turn right onto the S 80 (K-Weg) and then immediately left again onto Großenhainer Straße, cross the S 81 to reach the Ilschenteich pond. Turn left again before the pond and cycle through the forest parallel to the S 81 towards Dippelsdorf. Cross under the S 81 via the Gabelweg and the St. Ullrich tunnel and then take Großenhainer Straße through the small hilltop landscape to Dippelsdorf.
In Dippelsdorf, follow the signs on the left via Kötzschenbrodaer Straße to the S 81 road bridge and reach Friedewald-Buchholz. Cross the town via Heinrichstraße (right), Am Goldbach (left), Professor-von-Finck-Straße (left) and through the Lößnitzgrund. After about 0.5 km, turn left into the steeply uphill street "Am Brand".
The route then continues along Hochlandstraße to Reichenberg, where you turn right onto August-Bebel-Straße and then left onto Gartenstraße to reach Boxdorf.
In Boxdorf, cross the S 179 and cycle along Windmühlenweg, Schulstraße (left) and turn left again onto Waldteichstraße. After 1 km, cross the S 81 again and after another 700 m turn left into Alte Dresdner Straße/Flügel HC, which leads back to Moritzburg.
Cross the railroad station here and continue along Bahnhofstraße to Schlossallee. Cross this and go straight on at the "Goldene Brezel" inn into Roßmarkt. Continue to the market and turn right opposite Adam's Inn into the castle parking lot to get back to the starting point.

In the summer season from April to October, Moritzburg can be reached from Meißen and Weinböhla without changing buses with the excursion line M, which carries a bicycle trailer for up to 16 bikes every day.
Between Dresden and Moritzburg, a bicycle trailer is carried hourly on line 477 during the summer season on weekends and holidays.
