Historical (path) route through Bautzen's romantic old town with the Seidau district

The varied route within Bautzen's historic old town and along the old city fortifications offers romantic panoramic views of the town. The sign system of the "Bautzen History Path" provides welcome information about the past along the way. The path recently grew by the "Seidau History Path," where signs at 10 authentic locations give information about the history of the sites. The former Sorbian village Seidau has only officially belonged to Bautzen since 1922.

Notable is, for example, the pillory house from 1785. According to legend, thieves and "quarrelsome women" were publicly chained there. Part of today's Seidau Street once led along the Via Regia.
