The Saxon Wine Trail begins where the first large vineyards once appeared on the Elbe: in Pirna.

There are only small vineyards here today, but numerous examples of historical winegrowing. Cultural highlights on the first stage of the wine trail are the Richard Wagner sites in Graupa as well as Pillnitz Castle and the vineyard church in the middle of the Pillnitz Royal Vineyard. The route is not barrier-free.

Please note! Please find out about the opening times of the various refreshment stops along the way before starting the hike so that you are not faced with closed doors. For example, wine taverns are usually only open at weekends or in spring and fall.
