Directions & Parking facilities

Saxon Switzerland is connected directly to the Saxon state capital Dresden via the A 17 motorway, the B 172 federal road and the German Railway network (EC route Hamburg – Dresden – Prague). From Dresden – including the airport – S-Bahn trains and buses run to the region at short, regular intervals. Towns close to the Elbe can also be reached by the Saxon steamship company. Going upstream on the Elbe takes a little longer but offers an incomparable enjoyment of the scenery. In the region, the network of bus lines and S-Bahn enables uncomplicated arrival to the starting point of the hikes. Two bridges (Bad Schandau, Pirna) as well as passenger ferries (Schmilka, Bad Schandau, Königstein, Kurort Rathen, Stadt Wehlen and Pirna) cross the Elbe.

For guests who want to change their accommodation stage by stage, there are long-term parking lots.

Arrival to the start and end point Pirna is possible by train or bus.
