The circular route through the nature reserve "Teufelsbäder" (marked with red trail markers No. 5).

This varied tour leads partly along the Karstwanderweg through the fascinating NSG Teufelsbäder near Osterode am Harz. The heart of the protected area is the so-called "Teufelsbäder" – water-filled sinkholes formed by leaching processes underground.

The quiet, often mysteriously appearing bodies of water are nestled among near-natural deciduous and mixed forests. Their special formation history makes the area geologically interesting, while the calm atmosphere and the play of light and reflections on the water create an almost mystical mood.

On narrow paths, the sinkholes can be explored up close without disturbing the sensitive nature. Depending on the season, the Teufelsbäder appear in fresh green, bright autumn colors, or with mysterious mists over the water – an impressive natural experience away from the major Harz hotspots.
