One of the longest marked multi-day routes in Lower Silesia, with impressive views in all directions.

The Hirschberg Valley is an extensive mid-mountain basin covering over 270 km², bordered to the north by the Bober-Katzbach Mountains (Góry Kaczawskie), to the south by the Giant Mountains, to the west by the Iser Mountains (and the Iser Mountain Foreland), and to the east by the Landeshut Ridge (Rudawy Janowickie). The route runs practically along the border of this basin. The route can be cycled in three or four daily stages.

Directions

Stage 1: Janowice Wielkie - Wrzeszczyńskie Reservoir (approx. 27 km)

This first section takes you along the Bober-Katzbach Mountains. On this section you get the best view of the Landeshut Ridge and the Giant Mountains. You ride mostly on asphalt roads, with a longer unpaved section from Janowice. Several ascents and descents must be mastered. Near Maciejowa you pass a pond complex inviting a break. Finally, it goes down into the Bober Valley, more precisely to the Wrzeszczyńskie Reservoir, where you reach the lowest point of the route (approx. 290 m above sea level). From there, you can already see the foothills and the Iser Mountains, which are part of the next stage. Accommodation options are also available near the Wrzeszczyńskie Reservoir.

Stage 2: Wrzeszczyńskie Reservoir - Piechowice (approx. 20 km)

This section awaits you with a ride through the Iser Mountain Foreland with views of the Iser Mountains. You start the ascent from the Wrzeszczyńskie Reservoir at 290m above sea level up to the Kopań mountain at 740 m above sea level. Also on this part of the route, you get great views of nature. Most of this section runs on asphalt roads. Near the Kopań mountain, the road changes from asphalt to forest gravel paths. You are now on the routes of "Bicycle Land," an extensive MTB system around Szklarska Poręba. The descent is very pleasant, especially with a suspension bicycle. At the entrance to Piechowice, you are at 400 m above sea level. In Piechowice, you will find various accommodation and catering offers.

Stage 3: Piechowice - Kowary (approx. 27 km)

On this section, you ride along the foot of the Giant Mountains. You can start your day with a short walk through the center of Piechowice, with a view of Wernersdorf Castle (Pałac Pakoszów). Then follows a less pleasant, because more trafficked section to Sobieszów (approx. 3 km). The route gains pace and rhythm again. The view of Sosnówka with the reservoir, the ponds in Głębock, and the beautiful panorama of the Schneekoppe and Schmiedeberg Ridge immediately boost the endorphin level. The center of Schmiedeberg (Kowary) is practically bypassed by the route, but here you will find numerous catering and accommodation offers.

Stage 4: Kowary - Janowice Wielkie (approx. 21 km)

On this section, you ride along the foot of the Landeshut Ridge (Rudawy Janowickie). The section runs mostly on quiet asphalt roads. The first part of this stage below Góra Bukowa (with beautiful views of Śnieżka and the Giant Mountains) is 6 km long and overcomes about 200 meters in altitude. Then the descents dominate until you arrive again at your starting point in Janowice Wielkie.
