The highlight of the route is the Hahnenkleeklippen in the Harz National Park. These viewing rocks 200 m above the impressive Oder valley offer a magnificent view into the valley as well as of the opposite Rehberg and the Rehberger Graben running along the slope. The mountain meadows of Sankt Andreasberg are also visible from here.
For refreshments, the Waldgaststätte Rinderstall is recommended to recharge for the ascent on the return to Braunlage. The route leads you through the picturesque Lower Dreck valley past the Silberteich back to the starting point of the hike.
