Von dem Behindertenparkplatz in der Nähe des Hotelparkplatzes an der Bastei wandern wir zunächste die Straße, auf der wir gekommen sind zurück. Nach ca. 700m zweigt an einer Bushaltestellte links ein breiter Waldweg zum Steinernen Tisch ab. Diesem Weg folgen wir bis zur Kreuzung am Gasthaus. Nun geht es links einen breiten Wanderweg in Richtung Bastei. An einem Kiosk erreichen wir wieder die Straße. Diese geht nun nach rechts direkt zum Basteihotel. Wir passieren einen ersten Aussichtspunkt in Richtung Wehlengrund (Stufen!) und fahren an einem weiteren Aussichtsbalkon zum Wehlgrund vorbei leicht abwärts zur Aussicht.
Achtung! Die vor uns liegende Steininsel muss auf der linken Seite umfahren werden, rechts befindet sich eine Stufe!
Zurück muss der gleiche Weg genommen werden. Der Zugang zur Basteibrücke ist wegen der vielen Stufen nicht möglich, es sei denn, man hat Freunde dabei, die einem die ca. 30-40 Stufen nach unten und später wieder hoch helfen.

From the disabled parking lot near the hotel parking at the Bastei, we first walk back along the road we came on. After about 700 m, at a bus stop, a wide forest path branches off to the left to the Stone Table. We follow this path to the intersection at the inn. Now turn left onto a wide hiking trail heading towards the Bastei. At a kiosk, we reach the road again. This now turns right directly to the Bastei hotel. We pass a first viewpoint towards Wehlengrund (steps!) and pass another viewing balcony to Wehlengrund slightly downhill to the viewpoint.
Note: The rock island in front of us must be bypassed on the left side as there is a step on the right.
The same path must be taken back. Access to the Bastei bridge is not possible due to many steps unless you have friends to help you up and down the approximately 30-40 steps.

To reach the Bastei viewpoint, you can of course also hike the shortest route, that is, only the part on the paved road. In this case, the distance (round trip) is 1 km.
