This circular bike route from Weinböhla via Meißen and Coswig-Sörnewitz leads you to delightful wine experiences and offers wonderful views of the Dresden Elbland.

The approx. 26 km long route starts and ends in Weinböhla, directly at the Tourist Information in Zentralgasthof Weinböhla. Right at the beginning, we find the local history museum in the historic Peterkeller Winery in the old town with a permanent exhibition on local and winegrowing history.

The historic winery, the council vineyard with the watchtower and the Royal Vineyard are the first wine experiences on the route. Continuing on to Winzerhof "Im Waldacker" and over the Gellertberg with open-air stage to Oberau Water Castle, one of the oldest preserved water castles in Germany. Those seeking cooling in summer should plan a stop at Waldbad Oberau. On two wheels, you enjoy views of the Nassau landscape protection area and roll on towards Meißen to the Meissen Wine Cooperative. This association of local winemakers has existed since 1938, cultivating about 145 hectares of vineyards in the mild climate of the Elbe valley. On-site, the wine experience world with its vinothek is worth a visit. The route continues past the vineyards of the "Proschwitzer Katzensprung" before joining the Elbe cycle path and leading along the river with views of the historic old town of Meißen. Here, a detour to the other side of the Elbe is worthwhile to explore the Albrechtsburg, the cathedral and the countless alleys of the old town.

Along the Elbe cycle path, on the left side, more vineyards and the associated wineries await. The Schwarz Winery, Mariaberg Winery and Vincenz Richter Winery are among the very popular Meißen wine stops along the way.

Coswig with the district of Sörnewitz, just a few hundred meters further, also has a lot to offer for wine lovers. The Schuh Winery and the Henke Winery are worth a visit. The route continues below the distinctive Boselspitze along the Spaargebirge, allowing for further wine discoveries. Here too, a guesthouse with Saxon hospitality invites before the route leads back over beautiful field paths through the Nassau to the starting point in Weinböhla.
