The panorama around Wilparting is worth a hike even in winter - to the south the deeply snow-covered alpine peaks, to the east the Inn valley!

In case of unsuitable avalanche conditions on the mountain or as an alternative program to winter hiking, the hike around Wilparting is suitable for a nice route. The pilgrimage church Wilparting recalls early Christianity in Bavaria, especially the Irish wandering bishop Marinus and Anianus. Both would have lived here as hermits for 40 years. Marinus even in a cave. He was murdered by Slavic invaders. Anianus is said to have died a natural death in his cell on the same day. 50 years later, both their remains were recovered and the first church was founded on the "Ursenberg" (Irschenberg; ursus = bear). Since then Wilparting celebrates every year on November 15th the "Mareistag", the death day of the missionaries.
