30 Jahre Erich Maria Remarque-Friedenszentrum
On September 6, 1996, the first exhibition at the Erich Maria Remarque Peace Center entitled "Erich Maria Remarque. The way back" was shown. The Remarque archive in the basement had not yet moved in and the permanent exhibition "Independence - Tolerance - Humor" on the author's life and work was still under construction. In June 1998, the center was officially opened on the 100th birthday of the author.
The anniversary exhibition shows part of the first exhibition "The Way Back" and gives an insight into the activities of the center over the last 30 years. Over 120 special exhibitions have been shown, several conferences, film weeks and numerous events have been held. Research findings and projects have been presented to the public in yearbooks published since 1989 as well as numerous other publications.
In addition, the global networking of the Peace Center is presented, which has enabled cooperation and events from Canada to South Korea and South America.
