“Der Kommissar” is back! Following an acclaimed premiere tour, the creators of “FALCO – The Musical” are taking their latest masterpiece on a major tour once again. To mark the superstar’s 70th birthday, this authentic “biographical” production—starring Alexander Kerbst—will also make a guest appearance at the OsnabrückHalle on Sunday, January 24, 2027!

“FALCO MEETS AMADEUS” tells the story—in equally visually stunning and eccentric fashion—of two truly exceptional figures in music history, combining all of Falco’s greatest hits performed live with the captivating story of the legendary Viennese composer. The story offers a deep insight into the thoughts and emotions of the artist and the person behind the dazzling pop icon, while paying tribute to the “Falcon’s” magnificent life’s work.

“I’ll only be immortal when I’m dead!” These somber, prescient words form the backdrop for this new tribute to the greatest genius in German-language pop and rap history, who would have turned 70 on February 19, 2027. “FALCO MEETS AMADEUS” is a gripping and deeply moving musical journey through the defining moments in the life of this striking musician—a man who lived life to the fullest and endured many ups and downs, ultimately leading to his self-destruction.

With over 60 million records sold, a seemingly endless number of sold-out concerts worldwide, and the only German-language song to date to top the American charts, Falco became the most internationally successful Austrian musician of all time alongside Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In his No. 1 song “Rock Me Amadeus,” he sings, among other things, about Mozart’s popularity, debts, and his relationships with women—parallels that can be attributed not only to his “rock idol” but also to Falco himself. As a turning point in Falco’s career, the song naturally cannot be missing from the new edition of “FALCO MEETS AMADEUS.” In addition to “Rock Me Amadeus” and its origins, there are many other similarities between the two musical geniuses: Both were far ahead of their time, created their own unique musical styles, and thereby shaped the music of their era like no one else; two complex and controversial figures straddling the line between genius and madness, and two lives marked by excess that each came to an end far too soon. Falco died at the age of 40 in a car accident in the Dominican Republic, while Mozart died at the young age of 35 from a high fever. Both lived primarily in Vienna and were laid to rest there. They live on forever in the hearts of their fans, and their musical legacy has ultimately made them immortal.

The song selection in this spectacular show experience ranges from all of Falco’s greatest hits—such as “Der Kommissar,” “Vienna Calling,” “Jeanny,” and “Out of the Dark,” to early successes like “Ganz Wien,” impressive tracks such as “Emotional” and “Coming Home,” a few unjustly forgotten songs, and the song “Europa,” which is once again highly relevant today. The tribute brings “Falco” back to the stage and presents all the songs live with outstanding performers. The dance ensemble’s flamboyant and extravagant performances breathe new life into the songs and wonderfully round out the stage spectacle.
