The Church of the Saviour in Kuhstedt was built at the end of the 19th century on the edge of the Geest with a view of the moor. The predecessor building already stood here, from which the crucifix on the altar, parts of the pulpit and two wood carvings were taken.
The foundation stone for the new building was laid on 3 July 1892. The church was consecrated by Pastor August Corde on 29 October 1893. The church was designed by architect Eduard Wendebourg from Hanover.
Today, the Erlöser-Kirche Kuhstedt is part of the Evangelical-Lutheran parish of Gnarrenburg.
