The Church of the Redeemer in Kuhstedt was built at the end of the 19th century on the edge of the Geest, overlooking the moor. The previous church had stood on this site, and the crucifix on the altar, parts of the pulpit, and two wood carvings were carried over from it.
On July 3, 1892, the cornerstone of the new building was laid. The church was solemnly consecrated by Pastor August Corde as early as October 29, 1893. The church was designed by architect Eduard Wendebourg of Hanover.
Today, the Church of the Redeemer in Kuhstedt is part of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Gnarrenburg.

By car:
From Bremen, take the A27 motorway in the direction of Bremerhaven (Bremen-Nord exit) and the B74 via Osterholz-Scharmbeck directly to the district of Kuhstedt.
From Bremerhaven, take the A 27 motorway towards Bremen (exit Beverstedt) and the B 71. In Kirchwistedt, change to the L122, which leads to Kuhstedt.
From Hamburg, follow the A1 motorway in the direction of Bremen, take the Elsdorf exit and from there drive via Zeven to Gnarrenburg. Take the Gnarrenburger Straße to the B74 and from there to Kuhstedt.
By public transport:
