Duinger Seenlandschaft

Lake

Beautiful forest and lake area west of Duingen, ideal for hiking, swimming, fishing and cycling, created from an old open-cast lignite mine.

The Duingen lake and forest landscape begins around one kilometer west of Duingen. Lignite mining in this area was stopped at the end of the 1960s and the former open-cast mining site was renaturalized. Since then, the Duingen lake landscape has been inviting recreation seekers to go hiking, cycling, swimming or fishing.
Discover the Bruchsee, the Ententeich, the Weinbergersee and the Humboldtsee, among others.
Several hiking parking lots offer easy access to the recreational area and also have information boards with information on possible circular hiking trails.

In summer, the Bruchsee is a popular bathing lake. Shady sunbathing areas between trees and small sandy sections invite you to linger. A kiosk with pedal boat hire completes the offer in the warmer months.

At Humboldtsee there is a campsite with a children's playground and other facilities.

Lake Weinberg and the duck pond are designated nature reserves.
