The church in Zeblin was originally built from fieldstone and was probably built in the 13th century.
In the first phase of the interior renovation, the painted-over ornaments on the gallery were uncovered, among other things.
In the 16th century, Zebelin was still a branch church of Wustrow. However, due to the distance, there was a lack of adequate care, as can be read in the records: "Because so many complaints were received by the nobles of Wustrow from the Zebelin parishioners that so many children had died without baptism and many sick people without Holy Communion because of the long distance, the nobles of Wustrow founded the parish of Zebelin with the consent of the then ruling prince of Celle, since the first preacher at Zebelin, Urbanus Decimator, who had been schoolmaster at Wustrow, was appointed by the nobles of Wustrow to Zebelin, who was ordained at Celle on May 10, 1586. May 10 at Celle and was then introduced here".
