Church
The largest Catholic church in Görlitz, the Cathedral of St. James Görlitz, was built in 1900 as a brick church in neo-Gothic style.
In the last days of the war in 1945, the tower of the church was severely damaged. With the establishment of the Apostolic Administrature in 1973, the church became a pro-cathedral, and with its transformation into a diocese in 1994, it was elevated to the rank of a cathedral. After extensive restoration work inside the church, which was completed in 1982, a new organ was consecrated in 1989, built by the well-known Eule company from Bautzen.
